Privacy & Terms
1. Privacy Policy
1.1 Who we are
“Glance”, “we”, “us” refers to the operator of the useglance.ai website and licensor of the Glance software. For any privacy matter, contact us via the contact form and we will respond within a reasonable period, normally within 30 days.
1.2 The most important fact: Glance is self-hosted
The Glance software runs on your own infrastructure (or on a dedicated managed instance under Section 5). Your company’s data — employee profiles, meetings, transcripts, goals, metrics, financial figures — is stored on servers you control and is never transmitted to us. We operate no cloud service that receives, stores or processes your company data, and we have no technical means of accessing your self-hosted instance. For data protection purposes, your company remains the sole controller of the personal data processed inside your Glance instance; we are not a processor of that data.
AI features inside Glance send data only to the model provider that you configure (for example OpenAI or Google), under your own API agreement and keys, or to local models running on your own hardware — in which case no data leaves your servers at all.
1.3 What this website collects
- Demo and contact requests. If you submit the request form, we receive the details you type: name, email address, company name, team size, and your message. We use them solely to respond to your request and to conduct the sales conversation you initiated.
- First-party analytics. We measure how the site is used: pages viewed, sections reached, links clicked, video playback, approximate session duration, referring site and browser language. This is collected with our own code, stored on our own server, and shared with no one.
- What we deliberately do not do: no cookies, no advertising pixels, no third-party trackers, no fingerprinting, no cross-site identifiers. IP addresses are used only in a salted, truncated hash to distinguish visitors and are never stored in readable form.
1.4 Legal bases
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply: we process request-form data on the basis of taking steps prior to entering a contract at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); we process pseudonymous analytics on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding and improving a low-traffic marketing site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). No profiling or automated decision-making takes place.
1.5 Retention
- Request-form records are kept while the conversation is active and deleted on request or after 24 months of inactivity, whichever comes first.
- Analytics events are pseudonymous at collection and are periodically pruned.
1.6 Sharing and processors
We do not sell, rent or share personal data. The website runs on infrastructure provided by our hosting provider, which processes traffic on our behalf as any host does. If email delivery of form submissions is enabled, the submission is transmitted through our email provider. No other third parties receive your data.
1.7 Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, rectify, export or erase personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Since the only readable personal data we hold is what you sent us through the form, the practical version is simple: write to us and we will show you what we have or delete it.
1.8 International visitors
The website may be served from infrastructure in various regions. By using it you understand that the limited data described above is processed where our infrastructure is located. Form data can be deleted on request regardless of where you are.
2. Terms of Service (website)
- The content of useglance.ai is provided for information about the Glance software. It is not legal, financial or professional advice.
- You may not scrape the site for spam purposes, probe or disrupt the service, or misrepresent your identity in the request form.
- All content, design, product names and imagery on this site are our intellectual property or used with permission and may not be reused commercially without consent.
- We may update the site, prices and these terms at any time; the effective date above changes when we do. Material changes to license terms never apply retroactively to a signed order.
3. Software License
3.1 Grant
Upon payment of the one-time license fee, we grant your company a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to run, use and modify Glance, including its full source code, for internal business purposes — any number of your employees and contractors, on infrastructure you control.
3.2 What is included
- Full source code of the Glance application and the companion Mac & PC meeting recorder.
- All 1.x releases: features, fixes and security updates, delivered through the private repository.
- Installation assistance and reasonable direct support during setup.
3.3 Restrictions
- No reselling, sublicensing, redistributing or open-sourcing Glance or any derivative of it.
- No offering Glance (or a modified version) to third parties as a product or hosted service.
- No removing license notices or misrepresenting the software’s origin.
- Internal modifications are yours to make and keep; they do not transfer any ownership of the original work.
3.4 Versions and upgrades
The license covers all 1.x versions. A future major version (2.0) would be offered as a discounted paid upgrade — optional, never forced. Your licensed version keeps working regardless; perpetual means perpetual.
4. Pilot Terms
- The pilot costs $500 and runs for 60 days from the day your instance is available.
- It includes the full product — as a Docker image for your server, or hosted by us for the duration of the pilot — plus installation help and direct support. Source code is delivered with a purchased license, not during the pilot.
- If you purchase within 30 days of the pilot ending, the full $500 is credited against the license price, and your pilot data moves with you into production.
- If you do not purchase, a hosted pilot instance and its data are deleted 30 days after the pilot ends (sooner on request). Data from a self-hosted pilot remains on your server — deleting or keeping it is up to you.
5. Managed Hosting
- Optional and billed yearly: we run a dedicated, single-tenant Glance instance for your company — your own isolated database, your own model keys, no shared infrastructure with other customers.
- We perform deploys, updates and backups. Administrative access is limited to what operating the service requires, governed by a data processing agreement signed at order.
- You may leave at any time: we hand over a complete export of your database and files, suitable for immediate self-hosting, and then delete our copies.
6. Warranty & Liability
Glance is provided “as is”. We work in good faith to fix real problems quickly — that is what install help and the direct line are for — but to the maximum extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to the software or these terms shall not exceed the amounts you actually paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
You are responsible for operating your own instance: backups, server security, access control and compliance with laws applicable to the data you process inside it. The FAQ and the deployment guide describe the recommended setup.
7. Contact
Questions about privacy, these terms, licensing or anything else: use the contact form — it reaches us directly. Security reports are prioritized and receive a same-week response.
